- DurationOne day (AIDA requires at least six hours); complete the theory and practical sessions to certify, with no separate exam.
- LocationVenue is arranged per cohort.

Important: I can arrange insurance for students with Taiwanese ID. Visitors from overseas must arrange their own travel or accident insurance — Taiwanese policies require a national ID number. You will sign a liability release and medical statement at check-in.
This course is currently offered by arrangement. Please contact me to discuss timing first.
Prerequisites and certification requirements
Prerequisites
- 18 or over; 16–17 with parental consent
- Able to swim 100m non-stop
- No prior certification required
Certification requirements
AIDA 1 sets no performance numbers. What you have to demonstrate is a thorough understanding of freediving safety best practice.
Course limits
- Maximum depth 10m
- Student-to-instructor ratio: 8:1 in the pool (12:1 with a certified assistant), 4:1 in open water (6:1)
Taken from the official AIDA International course standards, last checked 23 Oct 2026. The numbers are minimums, not the whole assessment — technique, safety awareness and buddying are judged too.
AIDA course documents
Download and complete both documents early: AIDA Liability Release (PDF) and AIDA Medical Statement (PDF)。Any “yes” answer on the medical statement requires a doctor’s signature before joining.
Before joining
Register for AIDA using the romanised name on your passport.
